Marketing Campaigns
Get Stuck In to a Sweet Marketing Campaign
Home to the Rowntree, Terry and Craven confectionery empires, York has never fully exploited its chocolate roots, until now. And at a time when sales of chocolate and other ‘little luxuries' are on the up, there has never been a better time to invite visitors to indulge themselves in a Chocolate themed break.
A new Chocolate trail will take visitors around all the buildings that have a chocolate connection as well as chocolatiers and restaurants that specialise in delicious puddings and treats. The trail will finish at the new attraction ‘Chocolate - York's Sweet Story' due to open in the spring. The trail will be available as a printed version from the Visitor Information Centre and also as an interactive online map on both the main Visit York site and our mobile site.
If you are an accommodation provider keen to offer a two night package with a chocolate treat, we need to hear from you. As well as the two night breaks, we will be promoting shops, restaurants, cafes and tea rooms so, if that's you and you'd like to be involved in the campaign by offering something extra with a sweet theme, we can add you to the themed pages of www.visityork.org.
This is one of our most exciting campaigns yet and to get involved and get your chunk of the chocolate business contact Kate McMullen, Leisure Marketing Manager at km@visityork.org.
